The Back Story:
While wandering around my local drugstore a few weeks ago I stumbled upon a display filled with new Wet n Wild products. I was a little hesitant to try their new foundation since I had tried their Ultimate Match Foundation in the past and wasn't pleased. Up until this point I had been using Revlon Colorstay in Combination/Oily along with Rimmel Stay Matte powder.
Before seeing this being sold, I had seen it in the December/January issue of Nylon next to their article about CC creams. I decided since I had seen it in my favorite magazine I'd give it a chance. According to the info on the bottle the product claims the following: All day wear, Medium-Full Coverage, Lightweight satin-matte finish, Visibright complex reduces the appearance of wrinkles and rejuvenates skin. Another selling point was that there was a $1 off coupon on the liquid foundation, so the price went from $3.99 to $2.99. The price of the powder was $2.99. I figured I would use this foundation for daytime and save the Revlon Colorstay for night since it's kind of thicker than I'd like.
My Skin Type:
-Combination/Oily
-Some acne scars, still break out occasionally
-Large pores
-Pink undertones that I like to cover
The Review:
OMG you guys I love this foundation! I could not believe the coverage and how light it felt for being a build-able medium coverage foundation. The finish is Semi-Matte and the color Fair/Light matched my skin perfectly. This foundation currently comes in 7 shades ranging from Fair to Tan. With my HG foundation I was mixing two foundations to get the perfect color, so not having to deal with that everyday was a plus. Another thing I liked was the container; the foundation comes in a squeeze bottle so the right amount of foundation always comes out. Last but not least, this foundation has SPF 15 which I always try to look for in a foundation.
In other news I haven't reached for my Colorstay since purchasing this foundation.
As far as the Colorall powder goes, I like it but it's not my absolute favorite. My HG face powder is Rimmel Stay Matte in Transparent. I've been using the same powder for years, and always tend to go back to it. The plus side of this powder is it does set the foundation, and kept my face matte for a couple hours before having to touch up. Another plus is the size and packaging, it's quite small and comes with a sponge applicator so it fits really nicely into a clutch for going out.
How I Apply:
I use e.l.f.'s Powder Brush to apply both products. The dense flat top brush gives a really nice airbrushed finish to the foundation.
UPDATE as of May 2013
It's been 3 months since I first reviewed Coverall. I still like it and have repurchased it, but don't use it on a daily basis. I tend to go back and forth between Wet n Wild Coverall and CoverGirl Outlast 3 in 1. It just depends on the day, whether I want a more matte finish or not.
